SHARP Vector Magnetograms

The vector magnetograms show 3-dimensional components of magnetic fields in the photosphere (x,y,z-components, or radial,theta,phi-components). The strong magnetic neutral lines, which are borders of positive/negative radial magnetic fields, are detected and shown by green line in the following panels. The horizontal magnetic fields are shown by red arrows. These are used for input features of DeFN and can be used for verification of DeFN forecasts.

The SHARP data is used to calculate magnetic neutral lines for each AR by DeFN team in this page. The noted ARIDs are original of SHARP data, corresponding to the ARIDs of the following solar image (see more details in JSOC/Stanford U. web and Bobra et al. 2014 Sol. Phys). It is noted that they are not the same as DeFN ARID and NOAA numbers.
